Our Process
At Dakers Digital Studio, we take the hassle out of preserving your precious memories. Whether you're converting old VHS tapes, DVDs, or photos, our streamlined process ensures high-quality digitization with care and precision. Simply drop off or mail your media, and we’ll handle the rest—so you can enjoy and share your memories for years to come!
1. Get in Touch
Start by reaching out to us via email or by filling out the contact form on our website. Let us know what type of media you’d like to digitize, and we’ll discuss your project needs.
2. Send in Your Media
The cost of shipping to and from Dakers Digital Studio is not included in the rate and is handled by Canada Post or your local courier. You may choose to recycle the originals rather than return it upon completion.
Drop off and pick up of your media is available in Smiths Falls Monday to Friday 9-5. We also have supporting business in Carleton Place and Perth that will accept drop offs of your media. After our initial consultation to discuss your project, if you would like to drop off or pick up your media instead of using postal services, we will provide more details.
3. Digitization & Restoration
Cole then gets to work, carefully converting your tapes, DVDs, or photos into digital formats using high-quality technology and expert techniques. If requested, we can also enhance your images with color correction and photo repair or create custom slideshows.
4. Send and Save
The transferred files are sent via a Google Drive link where you can download them. You can then save the file to your local drive or your USB drive. Due to the fact that this format is no longer supported by the industry, we do not support transfers to DVD. High-quality MP4 files are the standard transfer format, and we also store a backup locally for six months. Please let us know if you have a specific format request.
